In a person's life, normally the greatest expense one must ever shoulder is tax.
Tax is an art form. Large sums are involved and there are always multiple tax outcomes with differing pros & cons. Further, the external events of life (births, deaths, marriage, retirement etc) can all have far reaching (and potentially expensive) tax implications if not handled properly.
You simply cannot afford to not seek sage council in these matters.
Tactica offers that rare combination of technical expertise with enough charisma that you actually look forward to doing your returns.
From a former employee's perspective, I joined Tactica Partners (then Howells Kidner) straight out of university and could not have imagined a better place to begin a career.
Returns are prepared electronically to make work as efficient as possible. The money has been spent (dual screens, training etc) to make sure this is so. Systems are in place whereby support staff take on more of the routine tasks allowing you to concentrate on the more interesting and value added aspects of a tax job (such as consulting and tax planning), as compared to just mechanically putting numbers in a box.
Further, all the features of a modern office life you think should be available (Flexible hours, staff involvement and empowerment, the ability to work from home etc) which "in theory" are available at many other jobs not only are available, but are encouraged.
From a potential client's perspective, operationally Tactica are excellent. Returns are always prepared in an efficient and timely manner (I can still remember the late nights in lodgement season to make sure this was so). In my living memory there was not a single late return lodged when a guarantee had been made.
Tactica also has access to a wide range of other professionals (lawyers, brokers, bankers etc) ensuring all facets of your tax life have been covered.
I cannot praise them highly enough.
By stating my positive view of Tactica in this public manner, I adopt reputational risk if they do not live up to my statements.
There are only a few firms in the world that one would feel comfortable associating their name with in this way, but in Tactica's case I am not only willing to adopt the liability but am proud to do so.
